Production Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Production Technician will perform tasks and operate equipment for the production of consumer products containing cannabinoids that include tinctures, gummies, softgels, capsules, and tablets. Primary responsibilities include operating manufacturing equipment, working on an assembly line, putting together and inspecting products, and adhering to all factory safety guidelines and standards. The ideal candidate will have some mechanical or lab experience, excellent communication skills and a high degree of mechanical aptitude. The qualified candidate will work with their supervisor to ensure production timelines are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes training to stay current with job and procedural requirements; ensures production personnel training requirements are completed and kept current.
  • Ensures all work related activities are documented by production personnel on the appropriate Production and Quality documents; provides oversight and completes/documents management review of production documents, as required.
  • Sets up and/or operates various processing equipment, labeling, and packaging, as needed to meet production schedule.
  • Feed raw materials into production machinery
  • Assemble goods on production lines
  • Monitor the production process
  • Carry out basic quality and testing checks
  • Store goods and raw materials properly in our warehouse
  • Use lifting equipment and forklift trucks to fulfill orders
  • Pack goods to be shipped
  • Maintain work areas and equipment

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience working in GMP regulated production environments preferred.
  • High degree of attention to detail and self-directed
  • Effectively manage time by balancing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility to work days/evenings/weekends depending on production schedules
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with others
  • Must be able to meet production standards in a fast paced work environment by performing tasks quickly and efficiently
  • Understanding of proper and safe handling of hazardous materials
  • Documentation and computer skills
  • Manufacturing quality adherence and thoroughness in carrying out standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Experience working with manufacturing or lab equipment is a plus
  • Mathematic and measurement skills
  • Ability to keep detailed records

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ year working in high output laboratory or pharmaceutical /nutraceutical industry
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Degree in engineering or manufacturing a plus

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: 

  • Flexibility to work days/evenings/weekends depending on production schedules required
  • Background and reference checks required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

  • May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (4-6 hours) with frequent kneeling and bending.
  • Working in limited climate-controlled facilities and experience extreme heat or cold.
  • Work with heavy fumes, plants, airborne particles and chemicals
  • Must be comfortable working with and around heavy machinery
  • May experience moderately high noise levels
