Technical Documentation Specialist

THE POSITION

Open Book Extracts (OBX) seeks a highly meticulous, organized, and motivated individual with strong attention to detail to join our team as a Technical Documentation Specialist.

This individual will support cross-functionally in providing quality review (QC) and formatting of regulatory and production documents for compliance with regulatory authority requirements and client needs, as well as providing other operational support as needed.

A Technical Documentation Specialist (TDS) is an integral part of the OBX team and supports the administration, execution, and evolution of our technical documentation and self-serve systems. The TDS will work closely with Quality, Production, and R&D teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Works closely with colleagues across other departments to ensure that everyone is completing and submitting the necessary documentation
  • Assists in the production process and contributes towards reviewing and updating content and packaging of published documents
  • Acts as a point of contact for retrieval of specific documentation as required
  • Creates and prepares regulatory documents including Vendor Qualification and Raw Material Questionnaires for submission readiness
  • Creates and prepares production documents such as Batch Records, Formula Cards, and Product Specification Sheets for submission readiness
  • Analyzes data submitted via documentation
  • Compilation of reports
  • Participation in internal audits and external regulatory inspections
  • Revises outdated documents and ensures that all staff are using the correct version
  • Works within or establish a timeline for completion of each project
  • Documentation Specialist Requirements:
  • Degree in communications or related field
  • Proficiency with scanning and administrative technology
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Multitasking ability
  • Detailed, persistent, and methodical
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
