At Open Book Extracts (OBX), we are continuing to monitor the evolving situation regarding COVID-19. Our first priority is the safety and wellness of our OBX employees and their families, our workplaces, partners, clients, and our communities.
Continued Operations
For now, we continue to manufacture CBD and ship orders from our facility in Roxboro, NC. We recognize and know that many of you and your customers depend on our CBD ingredients and finished good products, now more than maybe ever before.
As a food-grade manufacturing facility that adheres to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s current good manufacturing practices, we already have rigorous safety and sanitary wellness protocols in place, including all the necessary personal protective equipment for our extraction and processing teams; gowns, gloves, facemasks, hairnets, etc.. However, in North Carolina and across our operations in the United States, we are taking additional precautions to ensure the well-being of our team members, including:
- Increasing our cleaning and sanitizing protocols for shared non-laboratory spaces
- Postponing all tours and visits to the facility
- Requiring non-manufacturing employees to work from home
- Carefully following all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines
We will continue to closely monitor the effects and implications of COVID-19 and will introduce or update any protocol necessary to protect the health and safety of our people and products.
Remote Product Development Offering
We know that reliability and continuity is of the utmost importance as we navigate this new environment. That’s why, in partnership with Prinova, we are offering remote product development at no charge. This opportunity will allow us to continue to support the growth and innovation within this industry in the ways that we know best.
We believe building the hemp industry is a long-term investment. We will do our part to continue to support others in building and launching hemp-derived products – even in the midst of the challenging times we’re facing.
